FALCONERS- Families of Autistic Learners CONnecting Empathy, Responsibility and Stewardship is designed to allow autistic learners and their whole family an enriching educational experience in a safe and welcoming environment. There will be one event per month in 2017, and families can attend one event, the whole series, or anything in between.
The March 2017 event theme is "Keeping Animals SAFE"! Participants will learn how animals are cared for here at the zoo and how animals are protected in the wild. We will also learn about AZA SAFE:Saving Animals From Extinction, a global effort to save endangered species. Activity stations will be set-up in the Discovery Center and in exhibit buildings throughout the zoo, and of course all of the zoo's animal residents will be there to enjoy. Activities will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until 1:00 PM, and families may engage in as many or as few as they wish, at their own pace!
Please note! A $10 per family registration fee will apply to events in 2017. The fee will be refunded upon check-in on the day of the event. Registration fees for those who do not attend will be considered a donation to the program.
